WELCOME to Grove House Stables Equestrian Centre. Our aim is for you to enjoy your time spent with us and for you to learn and have fun at the same time. Grove House Stables was established in 1991 with one horse, one pony and a very muddy field! We have certainly come a long way since then – we now have approximately 35 horses /ponies, Indoor and Out-Door Floodlit All Weather Riding Arenas, Show Jumping Paddock, Cross Country Jumps, 2 Heated Lecture Rooms, Computer Room and Reference Library. There is also an adjoining cafe serving home-cooked meals and snacks. We are fully approved by both the British Horse Society and the Association of British Riding Schools. We have a team of Experienced, Well Qualified and Supportive Instructors and Staff.
OPENING – We are open every day except Thursday which is our staff training day, and we open until 8.00pm four nights a week.
GIFT VOUCHERS – We have a range of gift vouchers suitable for Birthdays, Christmas e.t.c.
CANCELLATION POLICY – Please try to give us as much notice as possible if you have to cancel a booking. A charge of 50% of the lesson price will be made for any ride cancelled after 4.00pm on the day prior to your booking. We regret that this will apply whatever the cause of cancellation in order to avoid the general surcharge that would have to be added on to all lessons to cover staffing and running costs. LESS THAN 1 HOURS NOTICE INCURS A 100% CHARGE. We do not accept cancellations via e-mail.
CLOTHING – It is a good idea to bring a waterproof coat, as lessons continue regardless of the weather. If you have not ridden before, wear comfortable leggins or loose fitting jeans, flat shoes (they must have a small heel) or wellies (no trainers). Riding hats can be borrowed. However, after your first few lessons, it is a good idea to purchase your own hat which should be to a minimum standard P.A.S. 015 or B.S. E.N. 1384. It is also advisable to purchase proper riding boots and a body protector for jumping.
