These Back to Basics group sessions for adults are designed for riders who want to develop and improve their basic riding skills and techniques in a fun sociable environment.  All riding abilities are welcome to join in.  There is a maximum of 8 individuals in a group.

From the Judges View Point Dressage Clinic

We are pleased to announce the return of our From the Judges View Point Dressage Clinics. This clinic will be held by listed BD judge Pat Mallaburn

 

Date: Wednesday 7th February 2018

Times: 3pm-8pm

 

The time will be split into 45 minute sessions with Pat, where you will be given the opportunity to ride a Dressage test and be given helpful tips and techniques on how to ride the test better and then you have the chance to ride the test again. You can choose any British Dressage  Intro, Prelim or Novice test.

 

Price: £30 per session if you would like to bring your own Horse / Pony. £35 per session if you would like a GHS Horse / Pony

All prices include 15 minutes warming up time before your session with Pat. Payment to be made in advance. Please let the office know which test you would like to do.

Badge and certificate days are based round the British Horse Societies Junior Progressive Riding and Stable Management Tests. If you earn one of the certificates the certification fee is £2.00 per certificate.

 

Full Day:

The full day runs from 9am – 4pm with an hour break for lunch at 12pm.  You will need to bring warm clothing and a waterproof coat and gloves, wear something comfortable such as leggings or loose fitting jeans, flat shoes (they must have a small heal) or wellies (No Trainers).

 

The full day will include:

 

  • 2 hours of riding lessons. 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. (riders will be put into ability groups)
  • 2 hours of stable management. Which could involve practical hands on pony themed activities or classroom based sessions
  • 2 hours of Badge and certificate training or testing.

 

Half Day:

The half day runs from 9am – 12pm or 1pm – 4pm. You will need to bring warm clothing and a waterproof coat and gloves, wear something comfortable such as leggings or loose fitting jeans, flat shoes (they must have a small heal) or wellies (No Trainers).

 

The Half day will include:

 

  • 1 hours of riding lessons. 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. (riders will be put into ability groups)

Mini Activity Session

Mini Activity Morning

 

If you are between the ages of 4 years to 6 years, you can join us on our Mini Activity Mornings which we run during the school holidays.  This is a two hour sessions that runs from 10am – 12pm. The session is splint into different activities including the following:

 

  • 30 minute theory eg. Pony colours and markings
  • 30 minute riding lesson
  • 30 minute grooming and handling
  • 30 minute colouring and other pony themed activities

 

The Mini Activity Morning is split into 30 minute sessions to give variety and help with concentration.  All the sessions are supervised by a member of Grove House Stables Staff.
